"Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them."
What a powerful command! Reflecting on this verse, my own hesitation and fear, while proclaiming the Gospel, was brought to light.
We, as Christians, have been given a task - the task of testifying to God's grace and proclaiming the Gospel - a calling to be harvesters in God's field(our world). By letting our fears and hesitation get in the way, we are not only proving to be inefficient workers, but also diminish God's power and strength that is readily available to us.
If we read the chapter further, we find out that God strengthens Jeremiah and gives him the assurance that He is always with him, thus, he will not be put to shame.
Shouldn't this verse challenge, strengthen and encourage us to stand up for Christ and get to work?! Remember, if we don't do it, God can always find someone else to do it, however, we will have to pay for our inefficiency, fear, distrust and hesitation.
What are we waiting for! Lets get to work; we've got souls to win for Christ!
